Get to know Catherine

Born in Honolulu and raised in Lahaina, Maui, Catherine Kobayashi-Jay has deep roots in the community she proudly serves. She graduated with honors from Lahainaluna High School in 1992 before attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she earned Dean’s List honors. Catherine later returned home and graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.

After spending many years in Maui’s hospitality industry, including hotel management, Catherine realized that her true passion was helping others. Inspired by her mother’s career, she became a licensed insurance agent and quickly discovered that assisting Medicare beneficiaries was an ideal fit for her caring and service-oriented nature.

​

Catherine understands that Medicare can feel complicated, particularly for those becoming eligible for the first time or preparing to retire and transition from employer-based coverage. She takes the time to understand each person’s circumstances, clearly explain the available options, and help them make informed decisions based on their individual needs.

​

Her service continues long after enrollment. Catherine values the personal connection she develops with each client and remains available to provide ongoing guidance when questions, concerns, or changes arise. Complimentary consultations are available by appointment over the phone or through video conference.

Catherine is fluent in Japanese and enjoys participating in Japanese cultural activities. Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors and, most of all, being with her husband and son. Whether serving her clients or enjoying time with her family, Catherine brings warmth, professionalism, and genuine aloha to everything she does.
