Get to know Curtis

Born and raised in Makakilo, Curtis Yee has dedicated nearly two decades to helping Hawaiʻi residents, healthcare providers, and insurance professionals navigate the ever-changing world of Medicare and health insurance.

Licensed as a health insurance agent in Hawaiʻi since 2006, Curtis began his Medicare career as an independent agent with UnitedHealthcare. In 2008, he joined Ohana Health Plan as an internal sales agent, where he expanded his expertise in Medicaid, customer service operations, provider relations, and network development. This experience gave him a unique understanding of both the member and provider sides of the healthcare industry.

In March 2013, Curtis joined Premier Benefit Consultants as an independent broker, driven by his desire to serve as a true consultant and advocate for Medicare beneficiaries. As the agency continued to grow, Curtis transitioned into leadership and operational roles. Today, he serves as Vice President of Operations, where he oversees many of the behind-the-scenes functions that keep PBC running smoothly, including contracting, certifications, compliance, training, agent support, carrier relations, and provider relationships.

Within PBC, Curtis has earned a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable professionals in the Medicare industry. Agents throughout Hawaiʻi frequently rely on him for guidance, problem-solving, and technical expertise. Known for his patience, responsiveness, and willingness to help, Curtis has become a trusted resource not only for PBC agents but also for many of the healthcare providers and industry partners the agency works with.

One of Curtis's greatest strengths is his ability to build and maintain strong relationships. Whether working with agents, physician groups, health plans, or community partners, he approaches every interaction with professionalism, integrity, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.

Outside of work, Curtis has been happily married for more than 33 years and is the proud father of two sons and grandfather to two grandchildren. He currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for Hawaii Families as Allies, a family-based organization that supports parents and families of children with emotional and behavioral challenges.

When he's not supporting agents or serving the community, Curtis enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, golfing, and bodyboarding.

If you ask the agents who work with him, many would describe Curtis with three words: knowledgeable, patient, and dependable. Those qualities have made him an invaluable part of Premier Benefit Consultants and one of the most trusted professionals in Hawaiʻi's Medicare community.
