Mayumi assists people throughout every stage of their Medicare journey, including those preparing to retire and transition from employer-based coverage, individuals becoming eligible for Medicare for the first time, and current beneficiaries who want help understanding or reviewing their existing plans.

 

She understands that Medicare can feel complicated, particularly when each person’s healthcare needs and circumstances are different. Mayumi takes the time to listen, clearly explain the available options, and help each client make an informed decision. Her service continues after enrollment, and she remains available whenever questions, concerns, or changes arise.

 

Mayumi also welcomes the opportunity to assist family members, guardians, employers, physicians, and anyone seeking a clearer understanding of Medicare. Complimentary consultations are available by appointment over the phone or through video conference.

 

Born and raised in Gifu, Japan, Mayumi began her professional career as a tour escort with JTB. She traveled to more than 25 countries while leading groups of 20 to 40 people. After moving to Hawaiʻi in 1996, she continued building her customer-service experience through positions with a travel agency, airline, hotel, and Japanese school.

Working in fast-paced and constantly changing environments strengthened Mayumi’s adaptability, resourcefulness, and ability to care for people from many different backgrounds. These experiences continue to serve her well as she helps clients understand their Medicare choices and identify coverage suited to their individual circumstances.

Mayumi is a valued member of the PBC family. Her extensive customer-service experience, cultural understanding, and ability to assist Japanese-speaking clients make her a trusted resource for individuals and families in our community. Mayumi and her husband, Gary, are the proud parents of their son, Justin, and daughter, Megan. Their family belongs to Nakagusuku Sonjin Kai and Kuba Rosei Kai under the Hawaiʻi United Okinawan Association. Justin is a taiko drummer with Chinagu Eisa Hawaiʻi, while Megan dances with Senjukai Hawaiʻi Frances Nakachi Ryubu Dojo.

Mayumi enjoys supporting Okinawan performing arts and volunteering with her family at the annual Okinawan Festival and other community events throughout the year. Her appreciation for culture, family, and service reflects the genuine care and aloha she brings to every client relationship.
