Get to know Milton
Milton brings the heart of an educator, an exceptional work ethic, and a genuine commitment to serving Hawaiʻi’s kūpuna. As one of Premier Benefit Consultants’ top-producing independent agents, he has earned the trust of many clients through his caring, dependable, and empathetic approach.
Milton assists individuals who are becoming eligible for Medicare, current beneficiaries who want help understanding or reviewing their existing coverage, and those preparing to retire and transition from employer-sponsored insurance. He also welcomes questions from family members, caregivers, and anyone seeking a clearer understanding of Medicare.
For Milton, helping people always comes before gaining a new client. His goal is to educate, answer questions, and serve as a dependable healthcare resource. He readily acknowledges that he may not have every answer immediately, but he will always do his best to find the information someone needs.
Milton understands that many people are uncomfortable discussing health insurance. Instead of beginning with insurance, he often simply talks story and takes the time to get to know the person in front of him. By listening carefully and showing a sincere interest in others, he builds meaningful relationships founded on trust. He wants people to know that he is there to help, without pressure or expectation.
Born and raised in Kāneʻohe on Oʻahu, Milton was raised by his grandparents, who cared for him and his brother from the time he was three years old. He remains deeply grateful for the love, guidance, and important values they gave him. Their influence helped shape his appreciation for kūpuna and continues to guide the way he treats the people he serves today.
Before entering the insurance profession, Milton spent 20 years as a teacher with the Hawaiʻi Department of Education. After retiring from the DOE, his father-in-law introduced him to the Medicare field and connected him with PBC and Shawn Nakano. What began as an unexpected opportunity became what Milton considers a blessing in disguise. He often tells people, “This isn’t work,” because he genuinely loves educating and helping kūpuna.
Milton’s background as a teacher allows him to explain complicated information patiently and clearly. He takes the time to help clients understand their options so they can make informed decisions based on their individual healthcare needs and circumstances. His support continues after enrollment, and he remains available to answer questions, address concerns, and assist clients as their needs change.
Milton also enjoys staying involved in the community. He provides educational seminars at the senior living community he serves, joins residents for bingo and hanafuda, and volunteers at Kīpapa Elementary School. These activities reflect his natural ability to connect with people and his sincere desire to contribute wherever he can.
Milton is a highly valued and trusted member of the PBC family. His outstanding work ethic, success as an agent, and unwavering dedication to his clients have made him one of PBC’s top producers. More importantly, he never loses sight of the reason behind his work: helping people. PBC appreciates the humility, integrity, and compassion he brings to every relationship and has complete confidence in the knowledgeable and dependable service he provides.
Milton and his wife are the proud parents of two sons. Their oldest is a physical therapist in Seattle, Washington, while their youngest is awaiting acceptance to medical school. Outside of work, Milton enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing, fishing, and cheering for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
