Get to know Trina

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, Trina grew up in a multigenerational home in Papakōlea. Being raised alongside her grandparents instilled in her the old-school values of respecting your elders, helping others whenever you can, and treating people the way you would want your own family to be treated. Those values remain at the heart of who Trina is and how she serves her clients today.

Trina entered the insurance industry somewhat by accident after a friend told her she would be a natural fit for the profession. She decided to take a chance, quickly discovered how much she enjoyed the work, and found a true calling in helping Hawaiʻi’s kūpuna.

​

She takes great joy in making Medicare easier to understand and providing beneficiaries with the clarity they need to make informed decisions. Trina approaches every appointment as though she were helping her own grandparents—with patience, compassion, respect, and a sincere desire to do what is best for the person sitting in front of her.

​

That approach has become even more meaningful since the passing of her beloved Tūtū and Papa. Trina often recognizes qualities in her clients that remind her of them, making each relationship personal and special. She wants every client to feel the same kindness, protection, and care that she would have wanted someone to provide to her own grandparents.

​

Trina has been part of the PBC family since the very beginning of the agency. Over the years, she has earned the love and trust of her clients and colleagues through the genuine aloha she brings to everything she does. Kind, professional, and compassionate, Trina truly epitomizes the spirit of aloha and the values PBC strives to represent. We love having her as part of our family, and it is easy to understand why her clients feel the same way.

Community involvement is also important to Trina. She supports Hope Services, recognizing that even kūpuna can experience homelessness and need someone willing to offer a helping hand. She attends New Hope Hilo and volunteers at her daughter’s school, Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Campus. Trina believes being actively involved in the community provides a better understanding of the challenges people face and helps her identify meaningful ways to support them.

Outside of work, Trina enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach, and relaxing by the pool with a nice cocktail surrounded by friends and family. Whether she is serving her clients, volunteering in the community, or enjoying time with the people she loves, Trina leads with kindness, compassion, and aloha.
